One key factor which makes the MillCraft 3D competitive, is the ability to accept orders quickly and flexibly. To achieve this, the model and mold maker has relied on portal milling machines from F. Zimmermann GmbH since its founding. Their latest addition: a compact, dynamic FZU32 with a thermo-symmetrical design. It offers a level of precision that far exceeds the industry standard.

“For many of our orders, the desired delivery date is basically yesterday. This is not just the case for our motorsport clients,” says Sven Goldschmidt, managing director of MillCraft 3D in Backnang near Stuttgart. “But the motorsport industry in particular places high value on speed: if, for example, a customer identifies the need for changes during wind tunnel testing shortly before a race, it’s not uncommon that we need to deliver a component the very next day.” Together with his partners Sascha Guilliard and Sören Kura, Goldschmidt founded the company in 2016 — originally located in Affalterbach, just a few kilometers away. All three founders brought strong contacts within the automotive industry from their previous roles.
