How large can the components to be machined be?
Zimmermann offers a wide range of portal milling machines that differ in terms of working space and performance. However, all machines have one thing in common: high precision and surface quality. Depending on the component size and material, we work with you to select the right milling solution. The smallest working area starts at 1,800 mm x 3,000 mm x 1,250 mm and goes up to 20,000 mm x 6,000 mm x 2,500 mm as standard. Special solutions are also available on request.
Which materials can be used?
The most common materials processed on Zimmermann milling machines include plastics, CFRP, aluminum, steel/casting and titanium. Lightweight materials in particular are used in the defense industry where every gram counts, such as in drones or helicopters or in the communications sector.
How safe are the gantry milling machines?
The portal milling machines meet the highest safety standards. They are designed and assembled at our site in Neuhausen, Germany. The digital security of our machines is guaranteed by various requirements. Our employees are obliged to maintain confidentiality. We are certified according to industrial standards.
How is continuous operation guaranteed?
You receive a warranty on Zimmermann portal milling machines. Our after-sales service is always available via a hotline. Our (global) service network ensures that you receive spare parts within the shortest possible time and that a service team is available to you on site. So that help can be provided as quickly as possible in the worst-case scenario. Maintenance contracts ensure that your milling machine is regularly checked and maintained.
